 How it works

 · To record each asset, users simply scan the barcode on an asset

·  The asset barcode value is automatically displayed · The GPS reading is picked up automatically from the GPS recorder and displayed automatically or can be invoked from the menu to extend the battery life

·  If applicable, specific locations for the GPS area can also be selected from a list of options for the area provided from the database

· The information is submitted to the system by scanning another barcode or pressing the space bar on the BlackBerry smartphone

·  If there is no GPRS coverage, the information is queued and then sent to the back office systems whenever the signal is re-established without any intervention from the user
